UNDER 65 HEALTH INSURANCE

Health insurance helps cover the costs of medical care, such as doctor visits, hospital stays, and prescription drugs. For people under 65, there are a few main types of health insurance options:

  1. Employer-Sponsored Insurance: If you work for a company, they might offer health insurance as part of your benefits. The company often pays a portion of the premium, and you pay the rest through payroll deductions.

  2. Individual and Family Plans: These are plans you buy on your own, either directly from an insurance company or through the Health Insurance Marketplace (Healthcare.gov). You can choose from different plans with varying levels of coverage and costs. Depending on your income, you might qualify for subsidies to help lower your monthly premium and out-of-pocket costs.

  3. Medicaid: This is a state and federal program that provides health insurance to low-income individuals and families. Eligibility varies by state and is based on income and household size.

  4. Short-Term Health Insurance: These are temporary plans that provide coverage for a limited period, usually up to 12 months. They can be a lower-cost option but might not cover as many services as other plans and can exclude pre-existing conditions.

As a licensed health insurance agent, my job is to help you understand these options, compare plans, and find the one that best meets your needs and budget. I’m here to make the process easier and to help you make informed decisions about your health insurance.
